Presented by Viola Lipscomb

This presentation will focus on the functions of NY Connects, which is a state-wide initiative that requires every county in New York to have a program. It is a free resource for individuals, caregivers and professionals searching for community-based programs for those who want to age in place. The program provides residents with information, assistance, referrals and linkages to community-based organizations that provide long term services and supports, and also serves as the intake line for adult abuse referrals. The program helps older adults, individuals of all ages with disabilities, as well as caregivers connect with services and providers that will help them thrive in their homes and communities. This presentation will discuss NY Connects infrastructure, its partnerships, core functions, and available resources to help people age in place. While Ms. Lipscomb is based in Albany County, the core functions and responsibilities of NY Connects are the same across the state. She will also provide information on how to locate resources in your area. Can you give me, and also Angela (president-elect), the link to use for advertising, once it is developed? I am cc'g Angela, as she will be president in May.
