Presenter Bio

Karen A. Simone received a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Syracuse University in 1993. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Certified Life-Care Planner. Karen is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, with special interests in forensic rehabilitation and life-care planning.

Karen began her career in Vocational Rehabilitation with Crawford & Company where she provided medical and vocational case management services to injured workers. She was able to further develop her skills as a vocational rehabilitation counselor through her work experience at SUNY Upstate Medical Center where she was a member of a transdisciplinary team providing vocational rehabilitation counseling to inpatients and outpatients with a variety of disabling conditions including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic and psychiatric diagnoses. Karen subsequently worked for MetLife Disability as a vocational rehabilitation consultant prior to being promoted to management where her responsibilities included managing vendors (Independent Medical Exams, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Physician Consultants and Case Managers) for the effective management of disability claims.

Karen joined K.W. Reagles & Associates as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist in January of 2010. She became owner of K. Simone & Associates in August 2012 where she conducts employability assessments, earnings capacity evaluations, and prepares life-care plans for individuals with disabilities.  She provides expert testimony on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in various legal matters including personal injury, medical malpractice, matrimonial, child custody and SSDI determinations.
