Title 1 of the ADA and Disability Disclosure

LaWanda H. Cook, PhD, CRC

LaWanda Cook is an Extension Faculty Associate with the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability in Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. In this role, she designs and delivers training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and engages in research and teaching related to disability identity, the well-being of individuals with disabilities, and the inclusion of people with disabilities in work and leisure settings. Her work explores an array of issues that influence the lives of individuals with disabilities including the intersection of disability with other characteristics such as race, gender, and age, as well as concerns such as workplace bullying and harassment.

Presentation Summary: 

This session will provide a brief overview of the employment provisions under the Americans with Disabilities Act and will address the implications of disability disclosure for both employees and employers.
