Designing Healthy Workplaces: The Center for the Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace- Healthy Workplace Participatory Program
The health and safety of workers is affected by both work-related and health factors. Recognizing this, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) uses a Total Worker Health (TWH) approach to integrate occupational safety and health protection with health promotion to advance worker wellness.  The Center for the Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace, a TWH Center of Excellence, uses a participatory approach to achieve TWH.

Through the program, employers plan, design, implement and evaluate integrated health and safety and wellness programs that promote overall health and well-being. These free evidence-based, university-developed tools feature a 7-step systems-analysis tool for designing interventions that are grounded in a business case. Join the discussion to learn if these tools might be right to integrate health promotion into the health and safety programs of employers you work with.
