Dear IARP Community,
This is a special acknowledgement of appreciation for Reg Gibbs' contribution as co-chair of the IARP Fellow Committee. I want to personally thank him for taking on this challenge with me. Reg has decided to step back at the end of this year. I would like to welcome Sherry Latham as the new co-chair of the IARP Fellow Committee.
This year we have had candidates complete the process successfully achieving the designation as Fellows and have others pursuing the Fellow status. The purpose of the Fellow program is to recognize expertise, experience and contribution to the field of life care planning. The Fellow Program recognizes life care planners who have achieved a high level of skill and who utilize their skills and knowledge to promote the advancement of life care planning. The College of Life Care Planning Excellence grants the Fellow designation.
Once again, I encourage anyone to reach out to Sherry or myself on navigating this process. While the process may seem overwhelming, it is well worth the professional distinction. The aspect that is so unique in comparison to other credentials is the peer review process. Which has become a common question during deposition and trial in whether or not you have been peer reviewed!
Once accepted as part of the Fellow community it is encouraged to mentor others for growth of the specialty field, continue professional development, participate in ongoing research and the peer review process of applicants. Please take the time to review the requirements and begin the process!
I hope 2024 was a wonderful year of development for all and wishing everyone the best in 2025!
Best
Rebecca & Sherry
