  • 1.  Anyone familiar with Creyos Health Cognitive Assessment Report?

    Posted 03-05-2024 16:48

I just reviewed info on a case going to trial soon and there is a Cognitive Assessment Report from the opposing side that shows this instrument by Creyos Health. It seems to have come from an IME neurologist, although the printout of the "report" is vague. There are categories such as "Monkey Ladder" for visuospatial working memory and "Odd One Out" for deductive reasoning. The fine print at the bottom does say it is not for diagnostic purposes, but I am curious if any of you have run across this instrument and can share any insights.

The only title on what appears to be a system generated report is Cognitive Assessment Report.

I downloaded the sample report at the link below is from their website. This looks very much like what I've reviewed. Their website says you can get a "customized assessment" in 15 minutes or less. It also says it is not a substitute for a full neuropsych eval, yet they market to neuropsychologists.

Right, this looks more like something you can do in an office as a screener to see if further diagnostic testing would be warranted, but I think it couldn't hurt to point out that it shouldn't be used for a diagnostic test if it is being used for that purpose. This does look like a bunch of pseudoscience because of the explicit statements like "SCIENCE BACKED" "300+ ARTICLES" and the like. Additionally, if there isn't something that indicates a manual or link to buying the test, for example, if you google WRAT, Pearson pops up, I think its safe to be suspicious and point this out to whomever you need too.

I am also just offering my professional opinion.

As what seems to be the case whenever someone under the age of 50 who has been deemed "not experienced enough" (I have been a CRC roughly 10 years or so now) to answer a simple question posts on this forum in particular, I am fully expecting to get some type of backlash from my response to you Stella, so if I do go ahead and delete these posts as to not continue to be ridiculed by peers in this community, we can continue this conversation via an email.

I have seen this used as an indicator for additional need for testing or intervention.

Never as a stand alone tool.
