I'm looking for some resources and guidance here for a 21 yr-old male with TBI and chiari malformation.
Post-surgery (5 ys now) client has seen multiple specialists for ongoing symptoms. Prior to diagnosis and last concussion, client was high achieving student/athlete. Client is fully functional except for 24-72 + hour spans of debilitating symptoms of headache, nausea, etc. Is in care of GI specialist for secondary GI problems.
Client has worked for family business thusfar but has recently relocated across country (Colorado Springs). It is getting more obvious all the time that he will not be able to hold down a job without accommodations due to cycles of illness that last days.
Family needs help in manner to go about some form of disability, if not SSD etc, and professionals in the Colorado Springs area with TBI specialty work medically and legally. Client is humble and to this point, family has avoided reality of possible need for disability.
