Chris, so excited to see you posting in this venue and also to know that the Illinois students are getting organized! I am the Marketing Chair on the IARP Board of Directors - just to disclose who I am and what I do with IARP.
A couple of things that you may find helpful.....IARP has just put together a coaching program that is meant to connect students/emerging professionals with seasoned professionals. This is being administered by the Rehabilitation Disability and Case Management (RDCM) section. This section has been targeted as a real gateway section for students/emerging professionals. I imagine Tony has seen this message but will certainly pass along to him - this may address some of the IL students' needs for mentoring (we are using the coaching term to avoid confusion with the mentoring program that has been set up for more seasoned professionals).
I absolutely agree that IARP needs a policy re: social networking use. We're working on that one!
Also, in going to talk with schools - awesome! It may be helpful to contact Carl Wangman at headquarters as we have an outline of information developed that could assist in talking about IARP. May make your jobs easier as well as communicating a consistent message about IARP.
So glad to see all of this activity! Keep up the good work.
