Vocational rehabilitation transition services promoted at the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates Annual Conference in Monterey, California.

On March 9^th and 10^th, the Vocational Rehabilitation Transition Services section exhibited at the COPAA annual conference. The exhibit introduced all the vocational rehabilitation related services VRTS section members can provide to attorneys and advocates that advocate for the rights of children in special education. Many of the attorneys and advocates that stopped by the exhibit were not aware of private rehabilitation service providers and many were not familiar with vocational and independent living evaluations. And most reported that the transition goals that schools are writing are inadequate. 

What we learned from this experience is that we need to continue to educate others on the services we provide and we will continue to look for ways to promote vocational rehabilitation services for students in special education.
