IARP ANNUAL AWARDS PRESENTED AT ANNUAL MEETING
IARP
announced its principal awards winners at the association’s 2015 annual

Rick Robinson, Bob Paré, Stony Landry |
Robert (Bob) Paré
earned the IARP Outstanding Professional Member Awards through a long
career devoted to IARP and other associations. He exemplifies the
highest form of volunteerism both inside and outside the umbrella of
IARP activities. Bob joined IARP in 1993 and served on the IARP Forensic
Board as well as president of the IARP Pennsylvania in 1997-00. A
prolific writer and observer Bob organized IARP's first Day of Service
in New Orleans prior to the Forensic Conference in November 2010, and
continued a related venture in matching seasoned IARP professionals with
students for introductory mentoring of students in Puerto Rico at the
2012 and 2014 Annual Conferences. He has also made presentations at IARP
and AREA conferences. In October 2014, he became one of the IARP
representatives to the new Rehabilitation Counseling Coalition whose
initiative and mission is, as Bob relates often, “To speak in one voice"
as it attempts to shape the future of our profession in a front that
never before has been similarly or successfully united. Bob is a member
of IARP New Jersey.

Rick Robinson, Elizabeth Skyles, Stony Landry |
The first honoree of the IARP Emerging Professional Award, Elizabeth Skyles,
was selected for her leading role as a rehabilitation professional
promoting the mission of IARP to a larger audience. Elizabeth has
demonstrated her leadership and volunteerism both at the state chapter
level for IARP Illinois and at the national level as the co-chair of the
Emerging Professionals committee. Through her work on the Emerging
Professionals committee, she has worked diligently to give that group a
voice in IARP. She has energized her chapter and IARP leadership to
understand how we can better serve our newer professional members, those
transitioning to new career opportunities, and students. As a member of
the Rehabilitation Counseling Coalition, Elizabeth, as president of the
National Association of Service Providers in Private Rehabilitation,
has gained the respect of fellow RCC members. They praise her ability to
make public presentations, to brainstorm and the help write statements
on behalf of the coalition. Elizabeth is a bright shining star for our
profession and for promoting the mission of IARP to a larger audience.
Elizabeth is a member of IARP Illinois.
